Silver State Christian School offers a challenging academic program for students in all grade levels. With current textbooks and instructional resources, our students benefit from a curriculum that challenges the mind while keeping the heart motivated. As well, we believe that all curricula must be presented and taught from a biblical perspective. Our mission statement communicates that Silver State teams with families in the education of each student. The family and school must team together for each child’s success in the classroom.
- Silver State’s regional accreditation provides verification that a Patriot education meets or exceeds the state’s standards and provides each student with excellence. Nationally-normed tests (SAT10) also indicate that Silver State’s academic program prepares students to achieve. In the last few years, our students have scored above the 80th and 90th percentiles in their achievement test scores.
- Silver State is not just about the academic preparation. Each class in integrated with Scripture and taught by Christian teachers who correlate the academic information with the absolute truth from God’s word. At Silver State, education is not enough – Christian education prepares the heart to honor God, love others, and walk in biblical truth.
- Our elementary students begin kindergarten with an emphasis on phonics and number theory. That emphasis is proven effective by our testing scores over the last five years that has our kindergarten class ranked above the 95th percentile in comparison with other kindergarten classes.
- Elementary classrooms focus on the fundamentals of learning (reading, math, language, history, and science) and are supplemented with various classes such as music, library, physical education, technology education, and art activities.
- Our reading curriculum is multi-faceted to prepare students to be life-long learners. The lower elementary focus on decoding (reading words) and quickly add comprehension skills in both classroom reading and silent reading. Our instructional reading time is also supplemented by reading requirements that help students develop a love for reading. As a result, our reading curriculum focuses on four aspects: decoding, comprehension, silent reading, and love for reading.
